Download Davinci For Linux

Linux - Fedora Core (rpm)

Take a look at the Installation FAQ if you run into any problems while installing your copy of davinci.

Before you install Davinci make sure you have the following tools and libraries installed:

Since ISIS module is very large, this version of davinci does not support ISIS operations. Please build davinci manually if you want ISIS to be supported (See Compiling Davinci). The easiest install the dependencies is using the fedora yum installer (i.e. yum install hdf5). You can also download the libraries manualy in rpm collection websites such as http://www.rpmfind.net or http://rpm.pbone.net/

These rpm binaries has been tested in Fedora Core 4,6 and 7, Centos 5 as appropriate.

Installation of dependencies (Under Fedora Core 4):

$ yum install hdf5
$ yum install hdf5-devel
$ yum install cfitsio
$ yum install gnuplot

Installation (E.g. Davinci version 1.69 for Fedora Core 4):

$ rpm -ihv davinci-1.69-1.i386.rpm

Running:

$ davinci

Libraries: Library Scripts are installed under /usr/share/davinci/library. When you start Davinci, you can source it as follows:

dv> source("/usr/share/davinci/library/library_linux.dvrc")
